Merge PDF

Combine several PDF files into one document – for example an invoice and its attachment, scanned chapters or application documents. You decide the order.

LocalFile does not upload your files – they are processed in your browser.

How it works

  1. Choose PDFs

Select two or more PDF files or drag them onto the drop area.

  2. Set the order

Move files up or down with the arrow buttons. The page count of each file is shown.

  3. Merge and save

All pages are combined in the chosen order into a new PDF that you can download.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. The files are merged with the open-source library pdf-lib in a Web Worker in your browser. LocalFile does not transfer file contents. The page also shows ads from Google, whose scripts run in your browser; we do not pass file contents or file names to them.

Are text, images and links preserved?

Pages are copied unchanged, including text, images and links on the pages. Document-wide elements such as bookmarks (the outline in the sidebar) and fillable form fields may be lost.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

No. Encrypted PDFs are detected and marked. Remove the protection in a PDF application first, if you are allowed to.

How many files can I combine?

Up to 50 files with a total of 400 MB. The actual limit depends on your device’s memory; on smartphones, smaller batches are recommended.
