Processing of your files

All LocalFile tools work in your browser. Files you select or drop onto the page are processed on your device using JavaScript and Web Workers. LocalFile does not transfer file contents or file names to our server or to third parties.

• Files are not stored in local storage, IndexedDB or cookies.
• Intermediate results only exist in memory and are discarded when you close the tab.
• Generated downloads are provided as temporary object URLs and released again.

What is still transferred

When you visit the website, your browser loads HTML, CSS, JavaScript and font data (for rendering PDFs) from our web server. This creates technically necessary connection data such as IP address and time, which the hosting provider may store in server log files. [Placeholder: hosting provider, retention]

Advertising (Google AdSense)

LocalFile is funded by ads from Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited). For this, your browser loads scripts from Google that run on the same page as the tools. Google may process your IP address, device and browser information and the visited page and – with your consent – use cookies or similar identifiers for personalised ads.

We ask for your consent using a consent tool provided by Google and certified under the IAB TCF standard. Without consent, at most non-personalised ads are shown. We do not pass file contents or file names to Google. Technically, however, ad scripts run on the same page as the tools.
